Parts Washer Solvent Transportation and Disposal Procedures
1. Parts Washer services are dispatched through our computer tracking system by means of an internal work order. Dispatcher completes paperwork and schedules weekly routes. The Work Order contains facility address, bill' address and the facility Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) registration numbers. This work order contains the number of units and services to be performed at each location with any special request by the customer.
2. Orders are filled from the Work Order generated and loaded to a truck for that day. All solvent is packaged in Department of Transportation (DOT) approved containers for delivery. All vehicles are registered with the EPA and state agencies for the transportation of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous goods and waste.
3. All contractor tanks will consist of OSHA, UL and CSA safety features. This includes an automated cover closure that activates upon rising temperatures. All pumps include a filter system to obstruct large particles.
4. Xklen services include the following: removal of old solvents and paint gun cleaner waste, cleaning of tanks (customer owned and contractor provided), maintenance and repair of contractor owned tanks, the replenishment of Virgin solvent and Virgin paint gun cleaner solvent, and the shipment of used solvent off the customers site. All waste and hazardous parts washer solvent are transferred to a facility for recycle or disposal. All waste will be drummed, labeled and transported to a destine facility. All waste and hazardous solvent will be disposed of through a process that is in full compliance with state and federal (EPA) regulations. Solvents removed from parts cleaning tanks will be transferred on a Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest to a permitted Oil Recycling facility for resale.
5. Our onsite technicians complete upon every service a checklist (attached), which is signed off by the customer. This checklist assures that the service was performed complete and accurate. The checklist is assurance that all units are operating properly, cleaned and refilled with solvent for the protection of the customer and contractor.
6. All technicians, provided by contractor, are certified DOT drivers, and are 40 hour OSHA trained. Each technician undergoes regular periodic drug screens through our substance abuse program. The contractors substance abuse program is monitored by an outside administration.
7. Hazardous waste removed from customers’ site is determined to be hazardous through waste profile sheets. These profile sheets give the composition of the waste and the process of generation so an accurate determination of the waste can be made. The profile also assists our technical department in advising our customers of analysis that might be needed to further classify the waste. All hazardous waste is checked by a Quality Assurance Quality Control (QAQC) plan designated by the disposal facility. All Parts washer waste undergoes QAQC by contractor which conforms to EPA SW-846 Method 9077 and is documented by manifest number.
8. Completed Work Orders and a copy of the manifest are returned to dispatch for final review. During the final review our computer tracking system is set up to print the next service Work Order. The paper work is then transferred to accounting for invoicing.
